Messi is his country's leading top goal scorer of all time.
At youth level he won the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship finishing the tournament with both the Golden Ball and Golden Shoe and an Olympic gold medal at the 2008 summer Olympics.

The left footed dribbler is the only player in history to have won five FIFA Ballon d'or awards, four of which he won consecutively.
He was is also the first to win three European Golden Shoes.
With Barcelona he won eight La Liga titles, four UEFA Champions League and four Copas de Rey among other trophies.

Messi has done so much beyond anyone's expectation having been diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency as a child at the age of 13.
