TENNIS PLAYER ERIN ROUTLIFFE BECOMES IN TIME FOR FED CUP

New Zealand has a new tennis player to get excited about and she'll fulfill a big role for her country at next month's federation cup,the International Tennis Federation have granted permission for Erin Routliffe to change nationalities from Canada to New Zealand..

She immediately becomes the country's No 2,behind Marina Erakovic,with a world ranking of 633,but don't let that number put you off about how much potential she is Routliffe has just finished her degree at the University of Alabama and will soon hit the professional circuit to find out how good she could be..But before that the 22-year-old will lead New Zealanand's chargeat the fed cup in Tajikistan on July 17, spearheading a team that also contains Paige Hourigan and Joanna caeswell but not Marina Erakovic.

Routliffe was born in Auckland while her parents were in New Zealand and she spent the first four years of her life in the country,she was the eighth highest ranked canadian player,but decided to throw her lot in with New Zealand after making a trip to Auckland at the end of last year.

TENNIS INTO SEMIS

The French open doubles winner has teamed with Brazil's Andre sa to reach the final four of the ATP tournament at S-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands,they defeated the third seeds.Jean Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau 3-6 6-3 10-8 in the quaterfinals and will now face top seeds Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo for a place in the final.

2017 ICE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The IIHF world championships for the year 2017 are being held in Paris, France and Cologne, Germany for the 5^th to the 21^st of May. The United States is in group A of the championships other countries include Denmark, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Russia, Slovakia and Sweden. All preliminary round games will take place at Laxness arena in Cologne Germany. All semifinal, bronze medal and gold medal games will take place at the main host location of Cologne, Germany.

Today we address USA vs. Italy, the United Stated took their third win of the ice hockey world championship with a 3 – 0 defeat of Italy yesterday. Monaco gets beaten at home 0-2 by Juventus

Monaco got to host Juventus last wednesday in the champions league semi finals in their first-leg clash.

The man of the match was Gonzalo Higuain who managed to score both goals one in the first half and the second one in the final with a little help from Dani Alves which led to a 0-2 victory for the Italians.

Juventus put on a very impressive defensive performance which has done well in their favour holding  the opponent goalless in 9 of  11 matches.
Juventus could do better though because the attack was lacking in the early going until Dani Alves stepped in.

However this result does not ensure that Juventus goes through to the final although it puts them on a better spot where they only need to score one goal to do so.

This will put Juventus on the verge of its second champions league final appearance in three years after the brilliant win over Monaco.

Max Gradel is an Ivorian footballer who plays for Bournemouth and the Ivory coast national team..Max received his first call up to the Cote d'ivoire national team in November 2010.He made his debut for the national side on 5th june 2011,Gradel won both the fans player of the year and players.player of the year awards

FORMULA ONE 71 FIRST SEASON

FORMULA 1 RACES

Formula one automobile racing has its roots in the European Grand Prix (auto mobile racing that dates as far as 1894 in France but quickly evolved into simple road race from one town to the next) championships of the 1920s and 1930s. The foundation of Formula One began in 1946 with the Federation International de l'Automobile's (FIA's) standardization of rules. A World Championship of Drivers followed in 1950.

In addition to the world championship series, non-championship Formula One races were held for many years, the last held in 1983 due to the rising cost of competition. National championships existed in South Africa and the United Kingdom in the 1960s and 1970s.

This year’s formula one race season will be the 71st season of formula one motor racing, it will feature the 8th formula one world championship, a motor racing championship for formula one cars that’s recognized by FIA, as the highest class of competition for open-wheel racing cars. The race started in Australia on March 26th 2017 and will end in Abu Dhabi on 26th November 2017 for the World Drivers’ and world Constructors’ championship. So far the world drivers’ champion is Ferrari’s driver Sebastian Vettel.

The world drivers’ championship is awarded by FIA to the most successful Formula one racing car driver over a season. The title is determined by a points system based on the grand Prix results.

Formula one races comprises of many teams, this week we’ll take a look at Ferrari’s team and the formula one race calendar.

This year Kimi Raikkonen from Espoo Finland and Sebastian Vettel from Heppenheim Germany are Ferrari’s drivers for this year’s race.

Sebastian Vettel

Sebastian Vettel being quite an achieved formula one drive, “he is a four-time Formula One World Champion, having won the championship in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 with Red Bull Racing.

 He is among the most successful F1 drivers of all time. He is one of only four drivers to have won four or more drivers' titles. He is contracted to remain as a Formula One driver with Scuderia Ferrari until at least the end of 2017.”

He is the current winner of the current drivers’ championship leader.

Kimi Raikkonen 

After nine seasons racing in Formula One, in which during his first Ferrari stint he was the 2007 World Champion, he competed in the World Rally Championship in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, he returned to Formula One, driving for Lotus and continued to drive for Lotus in 2013.

 “He entered Formula One as a regular driver for Sauber-Petronas in 2001. Having previously only raced in very junior open-wheel categories, he was given his Super License from the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) after a performance delivery promise by his team boss, Peter Sauber. He joined McLaren Mercedes in 2002, and became a title contender by finishing runner-up in the 2003 and 2005 championships to Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso, respectively. Raikkonen's 2002, 2004 and 2006 seasons were plagued by severe unreliability from his McLaren cars.

Raikkonen's move to Ferrari in 2007 saw him secure his first Formula One World Drivers' Championship, beating McLaren drivers Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso by one point, as well as becoming one of the very few drivers to win in their first season with Ferrari.

In 2008 he equaled the record for fastest laps in a season, for the second time. However, with Ferrari's desire to get Fernando Alonso into the team with his Santander sponsorship, Raikkonen left the sport and Scuderia Ferrari in 2009.”

On September 11th 2013, Ferrari announced their signing of Raikkonen on a two-year contract, beginning in the 2014 season. His current contract with the team has been extended since and expires at the end of 2017.

Arsenal dominated the game but failed to make it count leaving the fans disappointed at their loss.

Everyone was waiting for this game after their home loss with Crystal Palace.

The game with Manchester City was with so much pressure because Manchester City was at home and was expected to shine.

The game was with a very tense second half putting chelsea defense on the edge trying not to let them equalise or  take the lead.

Eden Hazard scored the two goals for chelsea yesterday enabling them maintain their lead in the Premier League.

He is the first Chelsea player to score both at home and away against Manchester City In the Premier League since 2007.

He now has 10 Premier League goals at Stamford Bridge this season more than any other player.

PREMIER LEAGUE WEEKEND

Last weekend football fans were entertained with lots of football games being played.

It was a tight game where teams had to battle it out to earn points in order to secure a much better position in the Premier League table.

The results were as follows:

Watford vs Sunderland

Watford got to tackle Sunderland which resulted to 1:0 victory  which secured position 12 for Watford from their previous 13th position while Sunderland maintained its 20th position.

Hull City met with West Ham and gave a 2:1 score with Hull City maintaining 18th position and West Ham dropping down to 14th position from the previous 11th position.

Swansea City game with Middlesbrough  resulted to a barren draw 0:0. Swansea dropped to position 17 from the previous 16th position while Middlesbrough maintained 19th position.

Burnley FC were beaten by Tottenham  0:2 making Burnley drop to position 15 while Tottenham maintained 2nd position.


Southampton vs Bournemouth ended with a barren draw 0:0 , Southampton maintained 10th position while Bournemouth moved up from position 14 to 11.

Arsenal game against Manchester City ended in a 2:2 draw where both teams dropped from their previous position with Arsenal moving from position 5 to 6 and Manchester City from 3 to 4 respectively.

Liverpool vs Everton ended 3:1, Everton maintained seventh position while Liverpool moved up from 4th position to 3rd.

THE FIFA WORLD CUP

    This is an international association football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association).
